Explorers' Seasonal Value Pack: Spring Blooms - A Bouquet of Bottles
Great Wines Don't Have to be Expensive!
This, the third Spring Explorer 6-Pack (how time flies!), is an exemplary equinox-esque collection of wines, in the sense that they are balanced. Regardless of whether they lean towards the shy, developing wallflower personality or the bold assertive Type A character, these six bottles somehow find harmony in the glass. Whatever the style, these are versatile wines that will stand out and shine in varied circumstances.
The two white wines are from Europe and are impeccable wines from from classic regions. The first is a three grape blend (Melon, Sauvignon, and Semillon) from the Loire and the second is crisp and forward Grüner from Niederösterreich, Austria.
How can you have a spring sampler without a rosé? This pack includes the new release of the shop favorite Piedmont producer, G.D. Vajra. Their Rosabella is a fruit-forward "bella" that is predominately Nebbiolo.
The three reds couldn't be more different from each other! The Tempranillo from Extremadura in western Spain is a natural, organic wine that highlights this grape's lighter side; the red blend from Washington is another shop fave, albeit with a brand new lot number; and finally there is a South African red blend featuring the Pinotage grape, which like the white wine grape Gewürztraminer, has a "love it or leave it" kind of vibe.
While some folks have had these grapes or wines from these places before, others have not, or maybe these particular bottles are new to you. This is the point of the Explorers' Packs: to try something you haven't had before - whether it is a wine you are completely unfamiliar with or whether the wine is a from a familiar grape or place but perhaps from an unfamiliar wine-maker; these packs aim to offer something different.
This Explorers' Pack is discounted at over 15% off regular prices. No further discounts apply.

Rainer Wess 2020 Gruner Veltliner100% Grüner Veltliner. Green apple, melon, orange zest, pear, on the mineral side, with a hint of white pepper spice. This is a light and bright white, with clean and straight-forward aromas and flavors. Fermentation occurs naturally in stainless steel and sits on the lees for about four months, and sees no oak before being bottled. An excellent example of Grüner! Organic. |

Vajra, G.D. 2022 Rosabella Vino RosatoPredominantly Nebbiolo with a bit of Barbera and Dolcetto. Raspberries, cherries, pomegranate, lightly floral, with a hint of salinity. Made in the saignée method, or “bleeding” of juice from a tank of fermenting red grapes; and what is left in the tank will become a red wine. Body is light, almost ethereal, and the wine is nicely refreshing. This is, at the very least a two season rosé; sip in the spring and summer! Organic. |
