Explorers' Seasonal Value Pack: Summer Sipping - Cool Wines for Hot Days

Great Wines Don't Have to be Expensive!

The Summer Seasonal Value Pack

Summer is the time for outdoor parties in the garden or on the patio, picnics on the beach or in a tranquil meadow, or some alone time in the hammock. Whether it’s crisp whites or lighter reds for al fresco dining, refreshing rosés for sultry evenings, or fuller reds for grilling – the Summer Explorers' Pack is a delightful mix of warm weather appropriate bottles.

In this pack is a refreshing white blend from Portugal; a crisp Sauvignon Blanc from Chile; a white wine made from an unusual grape from Piedmont; a crisp and insanely delicious rosé from Austria; a light Gamay blend from the Loire; and a non-vintage field blend from California.

While some folks have had these grapes, or wines from these places before, others have not, or maybe these particular bottles are new to you. This is the point of the Explorers' Packs: to try something you haven't had before - whether it is something you've never heard of, or something from a familiar style or place, but from a wine-maker that is new to you.

This Explorers' Pack is discounted at over 15% off regular prices. No further discounts apply.

Raza 2021 Vinho Verde Branco

A blend of Arinto, Azal, and Trajadura. Citrus and tropical fruits. There is a slight spritz here and the wine is fruity without being sweet. Simple, easy drinking white wine for when you just need a light sipper. Classic summer sipper!

Laurent 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Arrogante

100% Sauvignon Blanc. Gooseberry, grapefruit, lemon, bell pepper, white pepper, and gently smoky. Super value, this is a classic Chilean Sauvignon Blanc done in a balanced style, all the expected aromas and flavors, but not to extremes. Light- to medium-bodied with bright acidity and zip. Organic.

Guidobono 2021 Roero Arneis

100% Arneis. Pear, apple, apricot, light and fresh citrus, airy chamomile, and crushed unroasted almonds. A medium-bodied wine that drinks like a lighter and brighter whire. The freshness and the clean palate stand out. Moderate finish that begs for another sip.

Gobelsburg 2021 Cistercian Rosé

Les Hautes Noėlles 2019 VdP Hého Le Rouge

45% Gamay, 45% Groleau Noir, and 10% Cabernet Franc - roughly. Red fruits galore, cherries, currants, raspberries, strawberries, with a bit of herb and earth thrown in. This is fairly straight-forward Loire red loaded with flavor and finishes dry with barely a hint of tannin. Will take a chill. Great with roast chicken. Organic.

Marietta Cellars NV Old Vine Red Lot #72

A multi-vintage field blend primarily made up of Zinfandel. Other grapes finding their way into the bottle? Syrah, Carignan, Barbera, etc. Plum, blackberry, and wild strawberry are the main aromas, while cocoa and baking spices play around in the back. Medium plus bodied and light tannins. Go-to Cali red for grilling and a wide range of hearty dishes.
