Exploration 4-Pack: Wines To Be Thankful With

Some people know exactly what wines they want to serve with their Thanksgiving; others aren't so sure and may even fret about which wines to choose. Whichever camp you’re in, this 4-Pack will make that part of planning for Thanksgiving easy.

I say this every year, for me, the main characteristics of wines for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, including appetizers, are wines that are bright, juicy and fruit forward, have very little to no oak, and make for excellent pairings with all sorts of food. I lean towards light to medium bodied, but as long as the previously mentioned qualities are present, a fuller wine is not out of the question. This pack meets all the requirements and even includes a fuller-bodied option.

This pack includes the four wines below. These wines are not just great bottles to pair with Thanksgiving dinner, these were all featured in an Explorer Pack, an Email Special or at a tasting. All of these were a big hit and sold out initially with multiple requests for more. What this says is that these wines are crowd-pleasers, wines with personality, style, and definitely not ordinary.

This Exploration pack is discounted at more than 15% off regular prices. No further discounts apply.

Bisson 2022 Prosecco “Bianco delle Venezie” Vino Frizzante Trevigiana (Vintage change)

100% Glera. Delightfully dry Prosecco. Crisp, vibrant, with lovely white peach and green apple fruit aromas. Made in the Charmat or "tank" method where the wine goes through its second fermentation in a pressurized stainless steel tank before being bottled. The bubbles are light and bright with a delicious persistence.

Rainer Wess 2020 Gruner Veltliner

100% Grüner Veltliner. Green apple, melon, orange zest, pear, on the mineral side, with a hint of white pepper spice. This is a light and bright white, with clean and straight-forward aromas and flavors. Fermentations occurs naturally in stainless steel and sits on the lees for about four months and sees no oak before being bottled. An excellent example of Grüner! Organic.

Burgaud, J-M 2021 Morgon Cote du Py V.V.

100% Gamay. Deep strawberry aromas with cherry and mineral notes of crushed blue stone. Gorgeous fruit supported by sneaky light tannins and surprising complexity. This Beaujolais is almost always forward and ready to drink on release, but they also age for a few years surprisingly well.

D'Anguera, Joan 2021 Montsant “Altaroses”

100% Garnacha (Grenache). Spicy, tart, red fruits with floral nuances.  Medium-plus-bodied red with an edge-y and energetic character. Beautiful balance on this vintage. Less fruit forward than 2020. Earthy notes give this wine a bit of complexity and intrigue. Organic.
