In this pack is a refreshing, light white from Greece; a crisp Folle Blanche from France; a white wine made from the Turbiana grape in northern Italy; a round, unusual, and pink-ish wine that isn’t quite a rosé and isn’t quite a white, from southern France; a fruit forward Bobal from Utiel-Requena in eastern Spain; and a Syrah loaded with flavor from Washington state.
While some folks have had these grapes, or wines from these places before, others have not, or maybe these particular bottles are new to you. This is the point of the Explorers' Packs: to try something you haven't had before - whether it is something you've never heard of, or something from a familiar style or place, but from a wine-maker that is new to you.

Denthis 2021 PGI Peloponnese “Lost”80% Moschofilero and 20% Malagousia. Lemon/lime fruit and floral aromas. Like limeade but with a kick. Very light-bodied and mildly tingly on the palate. A nice sipper, or pair with simple seafood, cheese, or vegetarian dishes - especially one that are Mediterranean inspired.

Fruitiere 2021 Gros Plant Du Pays Nantais (Folle Blanche)100% Gros Plant (Folle Blanche). Lemon zest, citrus fruits, with a saline mineral expression. A light-bodied white from the Loire region where Muscadet tends to be the more popular choice. But whatever Muscadet can do, or pair with, this wine can do as well, and perhaps with a bit more zip. Break out the oysters. |

Ottella 2021 Lugana “Le Creete”100% Turbiana. Citrus, pineapple, crisp apple, floral, lees, and mineral notes. This is a beautiful and complex white that repeats all the aromas on the palate. Light on its feet, but has good concentration and a very long, pleasing finish. This is an under-the-radar winner! |

Ocre Rouge 2021 Blanc de Noirs VdF
50% Pinot Noir and 50% Grenache. Apple, pear, green plum, and citrus are the delicate fruit aromas, while a subtle bread rising on the counter gives complexity. Technically a white wine, the does have a pink/gold tinge to it, but doesn’t really belong in the rosé category. Round and light, a fun discovery! Organic.

Estenas 2021 Utiel-Requena Bobal100% Bobal. Ripe plums, dark cherries, and oak spiciness. Medium-plus-body with round and ripe character. This has a ton of fruit flavors but is dry on the finish. Like previous vintages it overdelivers. This might be your next go-to barbecue red. Organic. |

Corvidae 2019 Syrah "Lenore”100% Syrah. Blackberries, black currants, boysenberries, and plum pie are the dominant aromas, but you’ll find black pepper, a touch of vanilla, and cocoa. A round style of Syrah; full-bodied, and mildly tannic makes this a nice introduction to Syrah, or, if you are already familiar, a fairly inexpensive refresher course. |
