Grosse Pierre 2019 Chiroubles “Claudius”

100% Gamay. Black raspberries, cherries, spice, and mineral. Since taking over the wine-making reins at her family’s property a couple years ago, Pauline Passot is making seriously delicious Beaujolais. This single vineyard wine from the top of the hill displays darker fruit than many wines from this region but true to form the wine is fruit forward with impeccable balance and streaked with a granite minerality that becomes more apparent with time in the glass.
