Gilles, Guillaume 2022 Côtes du Rhône "Les Peyrouses"

100% Syrah. Blackberries, flame kissed orange zest, vanilla, mint, caraway and za'tar. The very complex and shifting nose on this young northern Rhone will have you smelling the aromas more often than sipping. The palate flavors are in line with the nose, but a bit of coffee bean creeps in. Texturally the wine is firm and still has youthful and mouth-drying tannins, but after a couple hours in a decanter begin to soften and resolve. Drinks very well with a few hours decantation, but will be better if left to cellar for 7+ years.
