In the early 2000s Giampiero Bea made the acquaintance of this group of 80 or so Cistercian Sisters and began working in the vineyards. Working with the nuns and their already the remarkable wine, which was made here organically and with little to no modern technology, he lightly refined their process and helped move the wines into the US market. The wines are eagerly awaited by their admiring fans and the small quantities are usually scooped up unbelievably quickly in the major markets. We have always been offered a tiny, yearly allocation of these wines and continue to sell them off the shelf.
