95% Tempranillo with a smidgeon of Graciano and Garnacha. Blackberries, cherry-vanilla, kirsch, tobacco, earth, and spice box. This Gran Reserva is a study in old-school style Rioja with its complexity, focus and concentration. The yin yang, sweet sour aspect of American is apparent, while the seductive fruit takes a backseat but is present and deep. Made from parcels in high altitudes this beauty drinks well now and will continue to do so for years.
